Kompozer Tutorial
Before I begin I would like to thank the many forums where I gathered information on using Kompozer and one particular website is Greg Tutor's website, you can click here to visit the site.
We are going to learn how to design a 2 column web page using
Kompozer, wich is a wysiwyg "what you see is what you get" editor. The
first thing we need to do is to have some understanding about the
software. While we learn to develop our web page we will learn to use
some of the tools in Kompozer. As you can see from this basic web page
design, we have not added a left menu, header, footer and a right
column. It is a 1
column web page design with text and 1 image. I wanted to start like this so that you can see
how it
all falls into place.
Now lets begin, open Kompozer and lets look at the layout. The image below is based on the latest alpha version
0.8a4, which is still under development and with bugs. You can get the latest version of Kompozer by clicking here.
Before we begin we must first have a nice website file structure
locally so that when we upload it to the server it will be located in
one location. Have a look at my tree structure structure, see image below. This
is the most basic and effective way to keep everything together, most
websites use this basic tree structure. Save this file as komptut.html or what ever name you prefer.
